Supplier Cyber Assurance & Tender Readiness

Give enterprise customers accurate answers to security questionnaires, backed by evidence your team can actually produce.

The problem we solve

Give customers answers you can stand behind.

A supplier questionnaire can quickly turn into a scramble across IT, HR, legal and operations. Some questions ask about controls the business has; others ask for proof that the controls operate consistently.

We help you answer one defined customer requirement set and build the evidence trail behind it. The objective is defensible information, not a collection of unchecked “yes” responses.

The result you are buying

Submit answers supported by real evidence

Which customer questionnaire answers can be supported today and what needs improvement before submission.

Your takeaway: A reviewed answer draft, indexed supporting evidence and a clear exception and action register.

Inside the engagement

How we prepare a defensible supplier response

The checks below are representative. We agree the actual systems, evidence and testing methods before work begins.

Understand the actual requirement

  • Review security clauses and questions; separate mandatory conditions from “good to have” requests
  • Clarify whether a reference to Essential Eight, ISO 27001, APRA or SOCI applies by law, contract or customer policy
  • List which business services, data flows, systems and subcontractors the questionnaire covers

Check the evidence

  • Review core policies, MFA/access evidence, incident response, backup testing and relevant supplier controls
  • Request ownership, review dates and real operating records for important assertions
  • Classify proposed answers as supported, partially supported, not supported or needing clarification

Prepare the response

  • Draft factual, plain-English responses consistent with the supplied evidence
  • Record exceptions and planned improvements rather than masking gaps
  • Create a controlled evidence index with the customer-facing artefacts and internal-only records identified

Plan practical improvements

  • Assign owners and due dates for material gaps
  • Identify low-effort changes that can be completed before the customer deadline
  • Review the final response pack with the client before it is submitted
What an assessment can uncover

An example of a supplier questionnaire gap

This is a fictional example to show how we explain a finding. It is not a claim about any customer.

What the customer asks

A tender asks whether supplier backups are tested quarterly, but the only available evidence is a green backup status dashboard.

Why the answer matters

A successful backup job is not the same as demonstrating that critical data can be restored.

How to respond

Request restoration evidence, answer the question accurately and record a test as a specific gap if none exists.

Information we ask for

What makes a response defensible

We collect only what is required for the agreed review. Read-only access, supervised walkthroughs and redacted exports are preferred where practical.

  • Customer questionnaire and relevant contractual clauses
  • Existing security policies, licences and asset/third-party inventories
  • Representative access control, backup and incident response records
  • Available certification documents, supplier attestations and existing audit results
  • Written confirmation of which statements management is willing to make
What you take away

A usable response and evidence pack

Your report will connect observations to evidence and recommend practical actions, with assumptions and limits clearly stated.

  • Completed draft questionnaire for management approval
  • Evidence index showing sources, dates and disclosure restrictions
  • Gap and exception register with actionable recommendations
  • A short client-facing assurance narrative where useful
  • Handover session to confirm answers, owners and next steps
The way we work

From questionnaire to reviewed response

Keeping the scope clear

What is not part of this review

  • Inventing certifications, maturity scores, operating records or audit results
  • Guaranteeing tender success, contract award or acceptance by the customer
  • Legal interpretation of contractual obligations or representing your company as accredited
  • Implementing missing controls unless separately scoped

Assessment conclusions are limited to the agreed systems, timing and evidence made available. They do not guarantee the absence of cyber risk or certify compliance.

Common questions

Before you enquire

Can you help if we do not hold ISO 27001 certification?

Yes. We can describe existing controls accurately, distinguish certification from internal practices and document remaining evidence gaps.

Will my client accept the responses?

Acceptance is the customer’s decision. We aim to make answers clear, traceable and defensible rather than promising an outcome.

Do suppliers automatically fall under APRA rules?

No. APRA-regulated customers may impose contractual security requirements, but that does not by itself make the supplier an APRA-regulated entity.

Next step

Bring the questionnaire, not a sales pitch.

To help us scope this properly, tell us: The customer’s sector, deadline, approximate questionnaire length and what systems the service covers. Do not attach confidential documents yet. Please keep passwords, sensitive records and configuration exports out of the initial enquiry.
